A 15-year Documentarian, Producer, and Cinematographer, Liz started Ecodeo in order to create a video storytelling vehicle that would help pivot behavior and consumerism toward a sustainable future that she believes is absolutely within reach. Liz is an optimist and “the doom and gloom talk” doesn’t sit well for Liz’s vision of the future. She knows she is not alone.
Liz founded Ecodeo after being inspired working on the national digital team for President Obama’s 2012 historic re-election campaign, famous for its digital strategy. Liz was a director of photography and traveled extensively (15 months straight) to shoot and field produce mini-documentaries across the US on the campaign trail - filming President Obama, citizens, veterans, celebrities, and Elected Officials. The platform and it’s video channels was one the most watched YouTube channels ever (at the time) and won Webby Awards, shook up the media landscape and earned over 350+ million video views. When Liz left the campaign, she was arrested by the disconnect between progressive sustainability-oriented business such as clean energy initiatives and a scarcity of these dialogues on main-street and in the media landscape. Liz worked for 3 years as a digital consultant for the Institute for Sustainable Development reporting team for the United Nations on a Sustainable Development and filmed meetings such as the 2015 Paris Climate Agreement which further galvanized her to pivot her career toward building a sustainable future.
Prior to politics, Liz’s career in film, documentary, and broadcast, involved a lot of teamwork, travel and working as a key creative on film and tv crews for syndicated networks, production companies, NGO’s, corporate clients & ad agencies. Liz is a seasoned creative who has managed teams & projects of all budgets that have earned international awards and sold for distribution. Lately, Liz is between NY and CA, producing projects on both coasts. Liz loves to unplug in protected ecosystems where there is absolutely no cell reception.

Colleen Hard is a seasoned Producer with expertise in documentaries, feature films, television, international campaigns and new media. Her projects have taken her throughout North and South America, Europe, Africa and Asia, and been seen in theaters, aired on Showtime, A&E, PBS and Discovery Times and opened the Tribeca and Slamdance Film Festivals. In addition to film and television work, she has facilitated capacity building workshops in Liberia in conjunction with UNDP on election journalism and basic media techniques, and conducted media assessments in Liberia and Guinea. Her work in non-profit based communications benefited communities both domestically and abroad in the fields of sustainability, journalism and more. Colleen received her MA in International Environmental Policy with a Specialization in Communications and BA in International Studies with a minor in German from the Monterey Institute of Studies.

Liz Dory is a writer, producer and cinematographer with twenty years experience in the film industry. For Partisan Pictures, she wrote and developed Mars on Earth and Weather Mars, films profiling space exploration, national defense and climate change. Her cinematography for the feature documentaries, Traces of the Trade and The Recruiter premiered at The Sundance Film Festival and The Human Rights Watch International Film Festival; with national broadcast premieres on POV and HBO, earning two Emmy nominations and a Dupont Columbia Award for Excellence in Broadcast Journalism. She loves cocreating powerful films that compel viewers to dig deeper into environmental and social stories. She is a loud music advocate and a bona fide beekeeper, tending to hundreds of thousands of stinging insects (Apis mellifera, aka honeybees) in rooftop hives, atop her home in Brooklyn, New York.

After graduating from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, Sasha Fornari focused on creating content for some of Chicago’s leading non-profit institutions including the Joffrey Ballet, Chicago Shakespeare Theater, and Chicago Opera Theater. During that time Sasha also formed his own production company that specialized in engaging promotional videos and compelling photography. Recently Sasha was the motion designer on President Obama’s re-election campaign. Throughout the entire campaign, he incorporated and animated various design elements into nearly all of the president’s online videos, using motion graphics to explain some of the most complicated topics, such as student loan reform and the prescription drug donut hole. By creating fully animated spots with original graphics, he helped contribute to the production of some of the most viewed and effective videos of the campaign.
Sound Designer | Music Producer
Kadet is the Sound Designer and Music Producer at Ecodeo. As the owner of a post-production studio, Audible Shift, she has designed sound and composed music for award-winning films that have screened at festivals such as Sundance, Cannes and Toronto, worked with clients such as Electronic Arts, Google, Disney and Konami, and has produced soundtracks for commercials by Adidas, Toyota, Vail, CNN and Volkswagen. She also is a Sound Designer at TellTale Games and manifests her interactive design specialty in virtual reality projects. Her longstanding engagement with media is expressed in original artworks that have exhibited at select venues such as the Museum of Art Lucerne, LACMA, Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, de Young Museum, and Museum of Contemporary Art-LA. Kadet has been curating film and sound art since 1997 for notable festivals and events and is the Vice President of the Board of Directors at San Francisco Cinematheque, one of the most respected showcases of experimental film in the world. Kadet’s main interest in her free time is hiking the vast array of trails on the West Coast with her family and friends.
Samuael Topiary is an interdisciplinary media artist, filmmaker, writer, academic lecturer and current PhD Candidate in a hybrid theory/practice PhD in Film & Digital Media at UCSC. She is also currently a member of a working group at Stanford University on Creative Cities. Her current focus is on landscape film, environmental documentary, urban environmentalism and collective social practice environmental art and activism. Topiary’s work crosses genres, integrating documentary, found footage, animation, essay, performance and original sound design to create poetic meditations on ways that myth, archetype and allegory inform contemporary experience. Her work has been presented in film festivals, theaters, art galleries and museums internationally. She worked on a number of broadcast documentaries as an editor and associate producer for PBS Frontline and A&E network. She has received a variety of grants and residencies and has taught in media programs at the School for Visual Arts, CUNY College of Staten Island, Pratt Institute, the Graduate Media Studies program at New School University in New York City and at UC Santa Cruz.
Nemo Allen is a bi-lingual producer, director, DP, and editor specializing in independent news, media, and documentary production. He has worked for Democracy Now!, HITN (Hispanic Information and Telecommunications Network), and is currently on staff as a consultant videographer for the United Nations’ IISD (International Institute of Sustainable Development). Nemo is based in NYC, and spends roughly half the year abroad on assignment and working on personal projects.
He received his BA with honors from Wesleyan University, where he studied English and Dance.
Joel Pickard founded Hatfarm, a Portland-based music production company founded by in 2003. Joel has an MA in composition from Mills College in Oakland, CA where he studied with Fred Frith, Alvin Currin, and Pauline Oliveros. He has a BA in Music from Bethel College in St. Paul, MN where he studied classical guitar. From 2009-12, he studied cello with Anna Fritz.
As a composer, Joel writes for film, dance, and commercial use. Recent film work includes the score for director Sydney Freeland’s feature, Drunktown’s Finest. Co-scored with Mark Orton, it premiered at Sundance 2014 and won the Grand Jury and Audience Award for Best US Dramatic Feature at that year’s Outfest.
Apart from film work, Joel regularly creates music and sound design for HBO, Showtime, Smithsonian Network, the Independent Film Channel, and other commercial clients. From 2010-11 he toured with The Thank-you Bar, a dance performance piece for which he co-wrote the score. It was awarded a 2012 Bessie for Best Production.
Daniel Feighery is a New York based filmmaker, producer, cinematographer, camera operator, photographer, and aerial videographer. Daniel has worked on over 50+ feature films, including American Gangster, The Taking of Pelham 123, Sinister, Half Nelson, Little Children, The Interpreter, Vanilla Sky, A Beautiful Mind, Tv shows such as the Sopranos, the Good Wife, Gotham, Elementary, Saturday Night Live and hundreds of commercials and music videos for David Bowie, Beyonce, Miley Cyrus, Justin Timberlake, Lorde, Lady Gaga, 50 Cent, John Legend, Common, Alisha Keys, Norah Jones, Joss Stone, The Strokes, Kings of Leon, Tv on the Radio, Kanye West, dozens of major companies and President Obama. He was born in Toronto, raised in the Bronx, and graduated from the University of Notre Dame, monograming in fencing.
Andrew Shuford is an experienced Cinematographer with all the artistic inclinations and technical proficiencies needed. Andrew graduated from the Brooks Institute of Photography and has shot everything from short films to television. Accustomed to shooting with various formats, Andrew has a unique ability to visually sculpt and capture amazing images even within the confines of tight budgets. Adept at improvising in the moment, his calm and collected presence, even in the most stressful situations, makes him a great collaborator and a valuable asset to any production. Andrew is passionate about the environment and is a wilderness expert, whitewater kayaker and rock climber.
Rachael Levine was born and raised in the agricultural area of the North Fork, Long Island, NY.
Rachael began her career in the film business as a focus puller and works as a Cinematographer and Camera Operator on commercials and independent features. Select operating credits include; Somnia, Oculus, the TV show “Smash,” Phil Spector, Our Idiot Brother, The Other Guys, We Own the Night, Roger Dodger and Thumbsucker, among others. Rachael received honors for her Cinematography from the International Cinematographers Guild Film Showcase in both 2004 and 2008. Growing up close to nature, Rachael has a deep respect for the natural environment. Picking fresh vegetables from her mothers garden, taught her the value of “farm to table”. Working with Ecodeo is a natural fit for her.

Morgan Robinson over ten years of experience working on feature documentaries, unscripted television, and documentary style advertising. In 2011 He co-produced the feature length documentary, Burning in the Sun, about an African solar energy entrepreneur. Burning in the Sun aired on PBS’ AfroPop Series and played at over 40 festivals internationally, winning the Cinema for Peace International Green Film Award for 2012. For six years Morgan created documentaries at Punched in the Head Productions in Brooklyn, producing three episodes of MTV True Life: “I’m Saving Detroit,” “I’m Addicted to Marijuana” and “I”m Being Sent Away by my Parents.” He went on to field produce an eight episode docu-series for the Cooking Channel called “The Freshman Class Season Two.” Most recently he co-produced a home renovation reality series for the DIY Network. Morgan is an avid environmentalist whose passion is telling stories about humans adapting to climate change. He is currently working on an independent documentary about the fossil fuel divestment movement and has joined forces with Ecodeo to co-produce content.

Kristin is as passionate about nature as she is about storytelling. Inspired by travel experiences in rainforests in Panama and Brazil, her storytelling provides viewers and users with deeply immersive and visceral experiences.
Kristin holds a Master of Arts in Television, Radio and Film from the S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications at Syracuse University. She is also a dedicated urban cyclist.

Martin Von Will is a director & senior designer based in Los Angeles, with over a dozen years of experience working for clients in the advertising, broadcast and entertainment industries. Disciplines include: branding, typography, live action direction, 2D/3D design and animation, illustration, compositing, color correcting and stop motion animation. Clients’ include: Microsoft, X-box, Harrahs, Logo, QuickSilver, NBC, MTV, Samsung, DirectTV, Hallmark Channel, Prius, Lending Tree, Century Link, Vodafone. Martin has an MFA in Film from Art Center College of Design and a BFA in Graphic Design from University of Illinois at Chicago. Martin is a snowboarder, scuba diver and can weld you something pretty cool out of recycled or found metal.

Marika Hughes is a native New Yorker. Long before her BA in political science from Barnard College and before Juilliard, Marika was a regular kid on Sesame Street. Marika spent many years in San Francisco, CA where she was a member of Quartet SF, joined Charming Hostess, founded the band, “2 Foot Yard” and toured extensively. Marika returned to NYC to lend her low-end to some of her favorite NY musicians including, David Byrne,Whitney Houston, Toshi Reagon, Charles Burnham, Gina Leishman, Jenny Scheinman, Mary J Blige, Imani Uzuri and Iron & Wine. Marika self-released 2 debut CDs as a band-leader: The Simplest Thing and Afterlife Music Radio—11 New Pieces for Solo Cello (DD Records). Marika can be heard regularly with her band, Bottom Heavy around NYC. Marika composts, recycles and lives in the countryside of Kings County (aka. Brooklyn, NY). Gretchen Hildebran is a documentary producer, shooter and editor with a passion for issues surrounding community justice and health.She’s worked on independent documentaries and created content for Discovery, The Learning Channel, PBS, and the United Nations Development Programme. For the past four years she has been producing a feature about fires that destroyed the South Bronx in the 1970s, and how the most vulnerable communities suffered when politics and urban policy turned their backs on “undesirable” neighborhoods. Gretchen’s work seeks out the connections between public policy and community health, and considers how poverty, race and politics impact fragile urban environments. Gretchen also has beautiful, red-head baby girl named Ecco.
Aterah Nusrat was inspired by the environmental movement from the tender age of 13 when she became a Greenpeace supporter in the UK. Since then she dedicated her academic, personal and professional life to the intersection of sustainable development, business, and cultural change. Armed with an MSc. in Environmental Technology from London University, and 15+ years combined experience in international and online market research, project delivery for triple bottom line initiatives, and mentoring, marketing and sales experience, she has a well rounded approach to researching sustainable solutions for our common success.
Elsie Lejano is an award-winning freelance video editor based in Chicago. Elsie has been creating compelling video content for over 7 years, editing and producing hundreds of television and web ads for a variety of clients. Recent work includes a series of videos for the SalesForce Foundation, focusing on how their tools help non-profits achieve their goals, video work for Obama for America, and photography projects for InContext Solutions.
Eric Juhola produced the upcoming ITVS/PBS documentary “Broken Heart Land” and well as the Sundance Channel documentary and Gotham Award nominee “Off the Grid: Life on the Mesa” which was in part about sustainable living in a desert community without electricity or running water. He also wrote and directed the fiction short Nowhere Kids, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival. Eric is a member of the Producer’s Guild of America, and is a graduate of NYU’s Tisch School of the Arts, where he also serves on the administration. One of Eric’s favorite quotes is “Live simply so that others may simply live” and hopes that through his work, this message will resonate.

Beverly Lorenc is a seasoned graphic designer with most of her experience in the Los Angeles entertainment industry. She has been on staff at design studios that service Warner Bros.Television, Home Entertainment, Dreamworks Pictures, Disney Studios, 20th Century Fox, Paramount Pictures, CBS Television, Discovery Channel and The Learning Channel. She managed high-volume ad production for Dreamworks Academy Award campaign, which won a KeyArt Award & Honorable Mention. She designs key art, brands, logos packaging, ads and promotional materials. Beverly strives to practice environmentally sustainable practices in her personal and professional life and tries to work with clients committed to sustainable principles. Beverly has planted a drought tolerant garden in Los Angeles to conserve water.
Eliza Comer has produced series, specials, live events and digital videos for over 16 years for multiple networks including National Geographic, Discovery, OWN, Sesame Workshop, MTV, ESPN, Cooking Channel, Disney and History Channel. Eliza kept the large video team running smoothly on the famous webby award-winning digital team that re-elected President Obama. Eliza has received 2 Emmy nominations for specials for Sesame Workshop and has been known to run the NYC marathon.

Dr. Victoria Kamsler (D. Phil Politics, Oxford) is an entrepreneur and environmental ethicist who has taught at Harvard, Wellesley, Bryn Mawr, UGA, UCSC, U of Toronto, and Princeton. She has been a Visiting Scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study in Princeton, and co-founder of Skybase, a cleantech solar aeronautics startup that pioneered a solution to the Eternal Flight Problem. She is Founder and Chair of the Biochar Offsets Group, an industry organization now represented in 63 countries.
